Providing a Total Green Office Solution

Ricoh has been selected as one of the Global “100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World” every year since 2004.

Smart, safe, environmentally sound manufacturing.

Ricoh Corporation operates 23 manufacturing facilities around the world. These factories are among the leading green manufacturing plants worldwide.

All have earned ISO 14001 certification for Environmental Management, as well as ISO 9002 certification for Quality Management. These standards not only serve as the foundation from which companies develop their environmental management systems; they hold companies to a higher level of environmental responsibility. They have also achieved coveted “zero waste to landfill” status, which means they send absolutely no waste materials to landfills. Instead, all waste streams are either reused or recycled.

Our commitment to providing products manufactured under these stringent conditions is just one example of how Ricoh makes environmental conservation an integral part of our business.

Green products, green processes.

Reducing the amount of energy your organization consumes is an easy way to have a positive impact on the environment. To this end, Ricoh & Lanier offer energy-efficient document management systems that minimize power and resource consumption without sacrificing productivity or convenience.

Nearly 100% of the systems we offer have earned Energy Star certification. They will enter an ultra low power sleep mode during which they consume just 6 to 8 watts of electricity. Conversely, warm-up time is nearly 66% faster than competitive systems, using less energy, and making sleep mode almost invisible to users.

Our products also allow for business processes that help our customers achieve their environmental initiatives while controlling expenses. Features such as Hold Printing, Automatic Duplexed Printing, Combine Copy, Sample Copy, etc. help reduce unnecessary waste and lower costs.

Recycling conserves energy and resources.

At Rothwell’s, we recycle all cardboard and other packaging materials. When equipment is removed from the field, it is disposed of properly. We remove all recycleable glass and plastic, and the metal frames are taken to a scrap facilitiy where they are melted down for reuse. No equipment ends up in a landfill.

For our customers, we offer a program to recycle empty toner cartridges. It’s an important strategy, because toner is second only to paper as our industry’s highest-volume consumable. Simply set aside your empty toner cartridges, and someone from our office will collect them upon the next visit to your office. Cardboard recycling bins with prepaid shipping labels are also available if you’d like to bring toner recycling in-house. Returned cartridges (along with packaging and shipping materials) are disassembled, then sorted for reuse and material recovery.

Typically, between 95% and 100% of the total weight is recovered. This keeps used cartridges out of our landfills and conserves the energy and resources required to manufacture new ones.

OUR EARTH. OUR TOMORROW.
